I thought I would write and share a bit about what is going on in our lives since it has been awhile since updating. We have a lot going on right now.
We were living in Southern California the past three years for our daughter who had a serious reaction to a medication. It caused multiple chemical reactions and she was left with Epilepsy due to Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. We lived in multiple lease homes while there but were forced to move because of the high cost of living and housing in addition to the cost of therapy and treatments.
I can't tell you how heart wrenching it was to leave and how sad to have to stop the treatments and therapies but the funds were just no longer there and no where quite honestly to get them.
We have moved on and even though it wasn't the first place that we would have chosen to live only because we love green grass and trees, rivers, lakes and the ocean. We love it here anyways because this is where God allowed us to land. We are still close to Southern California so we can go see the wonderful Dr Jerry and all of the other awesome therapists that we go to visit while there. We really miss everyone that we were able to meet. Most of all we miss the therapy and progress that we saw our sweet Abi making while we were there.
I am not going to lie though, we went renegade therapy and treatments for three (3) years and we had no help with our child, treatments or therapy. I would not suggest this for everyone. My husband also lost his job after the Family Medical Leave ran out with the company he was working for in NW Arkansas. They had promised him a position in their company they had in California and it never transpired. We also could not collect unemployment as he had not worked in California. It was more than difficult for him to get another job and he was not able to get another job in the field that he worked in prior.
It is with all of this being said we were forced to leave. We knew God brought us there and we know God wants our little girl well so we packed up with many hurt feelings and came to where we are now. We came here for a dental appointment for our daughter it was going to be three months of dental visits but ended up that we are living here at least for now.
We currently have more sessions scheduled in Southern California in the fall but we won't be able to go unless we can find housing here where we are now that is safe for Abi. We also need funds for those treatments and therapies. I have not set up a fundraiser for Abi since she was 5 months old but I decided to this. Our family sold our home in NW Arkansas when we started this rehabilitation adventure and most of everything we owned we sold or gave away. It was all for Abi to get well. God has kept us and God has provided for us every step of the way. We did not have friends and family doing fundraisers like many that I see. It was us and God. Our expenses with therapy and treatments are crazy expenses. This is not frivolous living it is not cheap though and Insurance DOES NOT cover these expenses.
We are looking for travel as well. When we go to California we can't fly as cabin pressure causes seizures. We are wanting to purchase a Entertainer type bus and have it renovated for Abi to travel for medical needs. Our travel spots for medical needs so far are coast to coast California and Florida. We are also looking at the possibility of Colorado for a Neurologist. We have a hard time traveling because of many things. Think about how many things have chemicals. We take all of our own food, we have to take drinking water because of the special filter that we have to remove chemicals. Abi is allergic to the latex in mattresses. I can go on and on.
Here is the link for our fundraising site we would all be so grateful for anyone who gives. gofundme.com/7oo90k We are looking to buy or build a home that would be safe for Abi to live in. She has multiple chemical sensitivities that most things or houses that people take for granted the end result causes her seizures. We are working on treatments for this but this is not easy and not cheap to do. We currently fly meat from Southern California to our home so we can have meat that she can eat without having seizures. We fly cheese from Mn. so that Abi can have cheese. It is difficult to find true Organic vegetables because of so many sprays and pesticides. We hope to get a small amount of acreage and put a small greenhouse so that we can grow our own vegetables to keep Abi safe. There are many natural chemicals in some fruits, vegetables that Abi is allergic to that causes her to have seizures if exposed.
If you give a donation thank you and God bless you Abi will definitely benefit from any amount that is given. If you Share which I would be so grateful for you to share. Thank you and God bless you.
